Wolves fall to Bobcats 100-95

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Adam Morrison scored 26 points - all in the second half - to help the Charlotte Bobcats rally from a 17-point deficit to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 100-95 on Wednesday night.

Morrison, a rookie forward from Gonzaga, overcame an 0-for-5 first half, finishing 10-for-19. He scored 13 consecutive points for Charlotte late in the fourth quarter. His 3-pointer started the streak and brought the Bobcats to within 88-87 with 4:52 left, and his runner from the baseline with just more than a minute remaining gave Charlotte a 97-90 lead.

Matt Carroll added 20 points and Gerald Wallace had 18 for the Bobcats, who won their third straight game. Charlotte, last in the Southeast Division, improved to 9-18 on the road.

Kevin Garnett had 22 points and 11 rebounds to record his NBA-leading 47th double-double for the Timberwolves, who lost their second consecutive game and fell to 3-7 in their past 10.

Mike James added 17 points in a reserve role for Minnesota, which lost the opener of a key five-game homestand. The Timberwolves' next four games are against division leaders.

James scored 15 points in the second quarter to help Minnesota to a 58-45 halftime lead.

Minnesota fell to 16-10 at Target Center and dropped to 5-9 under interim coach Randy Wittman, who took over after Dwane Casey was fired Jan. 23.

The Bobcats trailed by 17 points late in the second quarter and by 13 midway through the third before making a comeback behind Morrison. The first-year forward scored eight straight points late in the third quarter to pull Charlotte within 78-74.
